Ten plus years of experience, great attention to detail and a proven track record of being professional, diligent and hard-working are the attributes that describe Melinda Jones. Melinda has obtained a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems from Alabama State University, a bachelor of fine arts degree in fashion marketing from American Intercontinental University, and an MBA from Troy University. Although the above degrees represent different spectrums, together they equip Melinda with an abundance of knowledge that allows her to fuse together her love for fashion and her exemplary business & marketing skills.
Melinda conceived the idea of launching a consulting firm after spending 3 months in Tokyo, Japan, where she experienced the electrifying culture rich Japanese lifestyle. Since Tokyo is a mecca for fashion, Melinda got a chance to visit several notable fashion houses that featured the latest designs and vivid images, in addition to observing upcoming fashion, beauty and styling concepts, she was able to view technology on a grand scale. Melinda noticed that the fashion and marketing techniques in Japan were very unique which began an interest into wanting to find out more about it. Through this enriching experience the fashion consulting services of M’Jaie Style Life was launched in 2005.
While working as a fashion consultant and blogging about fashion trends, and style tips on social networks, Melinda decided to expand M’Jaie Style Life to include social media and marketing services. Ms. Jones has since been responsible for communicating brand and product messages across print and electronic media, creating marketing materials as well as the success of numerous market shows, fashion events and accountable for the stylish look of several individuals.
Always taking great pride in what she does, Melinda established M’Jaie Style Life to provide creative concepts, customized consulting service, personal attention and client satisfaction.

While visiting Savannah, Ga recently, I stopped by the Marc Jacobs store to do some shopping and fell in love with a BEAUTIFUL handbag. The unique window displays of a huge pink elephant and polka dot cow was inviting and made passerby's curious of the merchandise inside. Once inside the store however, the stylish garments, beautiful handbags, fashion, art & pop books (with titles and subjects such as Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Hendrix, Andy Warhol and many others) made you desire several of the fashionable pieces.
While inside the store, I noticed an orange statement handbag. The size is perfect; craftsmanship is superb; hardware is a great accent and the bold color is definitely an eye-catcher! This gorgeous handbag is the Bowery bag from the Resort 2012 collection. The vibrant "It" bag is a great addition to my collection and is a stylish way to liven up the wardrobe!
Karl Lagerfeld, the designer behind noted fashion house Fendi and Chanel, is set to design a collection for Macy's "Impulse" department. The collection will debut August 31. The collection will feature limited-edition women's apparel pieces that are reminiscent of his signature style. Merchandise from this collection will have a "sophisticated aesthetic that weaves rich fabrics and chic silhouettes together with a modern and versatile twist" (macys.com). Moderately priced from $50 to $170, this collection will sure to be a success! The collection will be sold in 235 of Macy's stores nationwide.
In the August issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, the season's best new accessories are showcased in a unique way. The magazine chose to have Smurfette from the upcoming movie "The Smufs" model the latest accessories. Although a cartoon, she wears the accessories well. I am loving the white studded Marc Jacobs beret and the red Louis Vuitton boots. Below are scans from the magazine uniquely displayed accessories.
Want to own the latest authentic luxury fashion items but don't want to pay luxury prices? Check out these websites where you will find apparel, handbags, accessories and shoes from designers like Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Hermes, Gucci, Christian Louboutin and many more. Check them out:
Christian Louboutin creates gorgeous footwear that can be called wearable art for the sole. But make no mistake, his creations are not meant for comfort. In article for Elle UK, the shoemaker says "his shoes are perfect tools to encourage women to slow down and appreciate their surroundings". A statement which I totally agree with! Many shoes are not comfortable to walk in but so GREAT to wear and look even better on a well-pedicured foot. Read the entire article here.
